Gerry founded GA Michael & Company, an accounting and consulting firm focused on the printing industry in 1984. First as president of that firm, and later as a partner in Carlson Advisors, which was then the largest accounting firm in the nation specializing in the Graphic Arts industry, he has worked with printers his entire professional career, and is widely respected within the industry. He currently is leading the Graphic Arts team at Falco Sult, a West Coast accounting firm serving clients nationwide. His specific practice areas include:

  • M&A services to middle market companies;
  • Business Valuations
  • Strategic business planning, including exit planning;
  • Industry consulting on such issues as equipment investments, technology, and profit improvement;
  • Financial Management in Graphic Arts firms;
  • Facilitation of investment, banking, bonding and legal relationships;
  • Performance Measurement Systems for Graphic Arts firms.

Gerry works with printing firms across the country, with a major focus on the West Coast markets, and has assisted numerous clients as an advisor on strategic business acquisitions, mergers, and sales. He has spoken at numerous industry meetings from Washington to Florida on topics related to the above areas of expertise, and has been frequently published in trade and industry publications.

He is a member of several professional accounting organizations as well as a longtime member of Pacific Printing and Imaging, VMA, PIASC, and PIASD, and is an active member of the Printing Industry Financial Executives. Currently he is serving as a member of the advisory committee of the 2017 President’s Conference.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Washington, and an MBA, also in Finance, from City University. For ten years beginning in 1984, he was an adjunct instructor in the Graduate School of Business of City University, the final five serving as Master Instructor for all Seattle‐area campuses. During that time, he created and facilitated a graduate seminar on business valuation for graduate level finance students.
